Beyond Extent Team Challenge: Hidden Splendor

An ancient temple, found hidden deep in a cave. The temple is filled with riches, gold and secrets. But not for long, as it has been found and the treasures are no longer safe from thieving hands.

This scene was created over the course of 5 weeks for a Beyond Extent Environment Art Team Challenge. The theme was “Hidden Splendor”. I worked with 3 other talented artists; Vasil, John and Kennedy. Please check out their links below.

We came in THIRD place out of 10 teams in the Realistic Environment Category. I’m so proud of the work we accomplished in that 5 weeks!

My main responsibility on the project was the temple structure. All of the temple assets, such as pillars, arches, walls, floors / ceilings and debris were modeled and textured by me, as well as a few props like the hanging banners, gold coin piles and a goblet. I also had a part in set dressing the scene, adding the treasures around the temple and foreground and the temple debris piles.

My assets were modeled and UV’d in Blender, and in some cases were baked in Marmoset Toolbag and textured using Substance Painter. Then they were imported into the engine.
